Choosing Your Electric Generator

Choosing Your Electric Generator can seem like a daunting process when you begin to consider the multitude of Choosing Your Electric Generatormanufacturers, models, and options available on the market today.  When you begin Choosing Your Electric Generator, begin by identifying a few key areas that are specific to you. By addressing a few early questions, this will greatly improve the process for you. In addition, Electric Generators is here to help you in the process of Choosing Your Electric Generator and you can count on us to be there every step of the way.

When Choosing Your Electric Generator, the first key area to address is how much electricity your specific situation will require.  You can begin to address this question by making a list of how many devices you need to run from your electric generator and what each of their individual wattages are.  Wattages are easy to find and can usually be found on the appliance themselves or in the instruction manual.  Once you have the numbers, add together the wattages of all the devices combined and you will have the minimum wattage you will need from your generator.

Equally important to note are the starting and running wattages of your generator.  Because motor driven generations can require three times their normal wattage to start, choose an electric generator with a surge rating that meets or exceed start up and constant wattages.   Making these calculations will ensure your purchase is one you are pleased with.
